Enhancing safe medication practice

Methodist Medical Center, a 353-bed facility with almost 600 board-certified physicians providing a full spectrum of health care services, has signed an agreement to install the InformMed system for enhancing safe medication practice. Methodist will be the first hospital in the country to implement the system from InformMed in the emergency department and take advantage of its patient safety features. The InformMed system will provide care nurses at Methodist with access to essential information that insure dosing calculations are correct, independent double checks complete. By taking advantage of the system nurses will be able to focus their time and effort on delivering the care only they can provide their patients.
